My Friends Birthday

Last weekend I went back down to Chatham to play with my friend at his house because it was his b-day. I had not seen him for a couple months. 2 I think. He was an only child so he had a couple cool things to play with. We played with his game cube for most of the time. Even though it is not new, he had a sweet street baller game with old school players that were pro at moves. We also played mini sticks in his basement. I was mostly goalie. I was not that bad. They still scored a lot on me though. We also had the best game of man hunt possible. We played it in the Chatham cemetery. It was creepy yet awesome. It was a very big place and had grave stones which were huge. You could hide behind them with no problem at all. I really enjoyed seeing him again and I hope I can see him again soon. Next time it may even be better.

Best friends reunited once again

Over March break I really wanted to see my best friend in Chatham. We were planing this meeting out for at least a week and I was really looking forward to it. It was over the weekend of the beginning of March Break. We met at the Costco off the highway in London at 12:00 on Sunday. It was a long drive back to Chatham with my friend but it was worth the wait to hang out with him. When we got to his house we grabbed his brothers red bouncy ball and played some soccer in his hallway. FYI the ball was the size of a basketball if you wondering. We also made up this new very fun game. It is called package. You play the game by standing in the door way of the living room. You then want to reject the ball from hitting the wall at the top of the door behind you. You would reject it like a basketball player would. The person who had the most " package" would win. That night we also watched some movies. Disaster movie and land of the lost. Then the next night we watched this movie called rebound and it was actually pretty good. Anyways the next day, during the day we played some horse at my other friends house. It was a lot of fun to hang out with two friends at once. I think that was the best time had all March Break and I get to go back to Chatham next week for another friend but this time for a birthday.

Report Cards

At the end of the day on the last day of school, we got our 2 term report cards and I was very happy about the turn out. I think that my report card was good but I am hoping to do better on my next term. I think I can do this by studying harder and working harder towards achieving my goals at a higher level. I am still glad that I didn't go under a B minus. I am pushing to bump all my marks up. Even though I thought I should had done better, my mom and dad were happy with the outcome so I guess that made me feel good. I also appreciate the honest constructive criticism on how I can get better. I don't think it is criticism but that is what it is called. Well I guess it is also considered a suggestion so if my teacher says I should try to do it then I will try my best

Basketball game

Yesterday after school I went to a kids vs parents basketball game. It was the junior basketball team against their parents. It was a very fun family game. My dad was there and I jumped on his back before he could shoot. It was a great time. I even scored a basket. After the first part of our family game night was all Indiana, we played 5 on 5. I think we got smoked by the parents in that one. Well they were taller. After that was over we played one game of normal doge ball. It was crazy fun. I was one of the last kids standing on our whole team. My dad was amazing at hitting kids out and dodging the balls. The best part of the whole night was the bonus of donuts. I had two. they were both yellow and green sprinkled with vanilla icing. yummmmmmm. I think that all the sports team should do that. It was a great time. Also if you are a teacher reading this and you run a school sports team. I recommend having a family sort of game thing.

HE SHOOTS HE SCORES!!!!!!!

Last Friday night my dad and I went to a Philadelphia Flyer's, Buffalo Sabres game. It was the best game of NHL hockey i have ever seen in my life. That is a bold statement to because I have watched hockey on Saturday for like the past 6 years. Anyway the Flyer's have been my favourite team forever so it was a big deal for me. We drove to Buffalo to the game. I left right as I got home from school. I was so excited. I has my jersey on and everything. I am sure that other people can relate to being so excited it felt that you could wet yourself at any moment. It was my dream to see them play. I knew about the game for at least two and a half months. It was my birthday present from my dad. "Crack" made the sound of the sticks as they clashed together as the puck dropped at center ice. It was the middle of the second period when Philly scored. I was so happy. I saw my favourite team score in real life. YAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! The second goal they scored wasn't such a classy celebration. I jumped up and started cheering and taunting the Buffalo fans behind me, but in the end it was not enough. Buffalo scored and won 3-2 in overtime but I enjoyed being there with my dad. It was a great bonding activity.

Fun Fun Fun

Last night after I got home from school i took my usual Rollerblade around Axton park. As I went around I saw some of my friends playing there which made me eager to go and play with them. So i went home grabbed my shoes and my basketball and headed back to the park with my sister. We left at 6:30 and got back at 7:45. We had an amazing time. We played plenty of fun games but the best was when my friends and my sister and I played a good old game of British Bulldog. If you don't know what this game is, it is where you run from one end of the boundary area to the other continuously until there is only person left. Another name for this game is Octopus. After that was done and there was only one other person there and we just chilled out. I would have to say that was the funnest time I have ever had at a park with my friends. If you have a chance to go there i recommend it.

Ruby Bridges

In class we just finished watching a movie about Ruby Bridges. If you don't know who she, Ruby was the first black child to ever integrate into a white school out of all of the United States. She was just in first grade when she took an educational test. The test was to see if she was ahead of her grade level. If she was than her and the other 2 children would go to a white integrated school. She did end up passing the test with flying colours meaning she would go to a school called William Frans Public School. This believe it or not was a big thing for the time. They were still trying to get use to the reality without slavery so when this little 6 year old girl integrates into a white school it would be a big deal. She was escorted to the school in a car with her mom with marsh ells. When she arrived there were giant crowds of people screaming at Ruby. She kept on going to the school no matter what the crowds did. She broke the odds with the help of her family and her teacher Mrs Henry. She is still living today. She also started the Ruby Bridges foundation to help schools learn. She has decided to give back.
